On Saturday we withstood the cold (luckily no wind) outside the Neeld Hall on the High Street for over two hours of jolly carols, amidst the market stalls. Many shoppers passed by, and (from the sounds of the tub) donated generously towards our charity of the season: Alzheimer’s Society.

[Private Event] Gateway Club
Smiles were abundant this evening, as jolly tunes filled the school hall. Eager participants helped conduct, and choristers-in-training sang along to some carols of their choice. Help was had for Andrew the drummer to count in one of the marches, and many dancers took to the floor for some of the tunes. The choreography for…
Lacock Fayre
After a challenging journey despite the local nature of the event (very circuitous route to parking cars;) a large band contingent made their way to the front of the school where we played two long sets of music. We actually had pretty good weather and a varied audience – including lots of dog walkers! Bargains…
John Coles Park – Family Fun Day
Amongst the bouncy castles, melody filled the air – drawing a captive audience away from the stalls to the benches surrounding the bandstand. Lots of cheerful tunes were played to brighten the slightly dull weather, however, just after ‘Here Comes The Sun’ the deluge of rain began. The weather was so intense we sadly had to…
[Private event]
We had an enjoyable evening at a 1920’s themed ball. We played more traditional (big band/blues) music with several uplifting tunes (slightly out of era). It was a delight watching the well-dressed ladies and gentlemen mingling (some even sporting top hat and canes.) The Austin 6 used to ferry some of the guests around was absolutely…
Warminster
We travelled south unto the Warminster Lakeside Pleasure Gardens; in a very pleasant market town similar to our own Chippenham. There was a delightful group of supporters including a delightful little grey dog. The sun graced…
Bath Parade Gardens
A gloriously hot summer day awaited us in the floral garden at Bath. There was quite an audience – various people enjoying the weather; sat on deck chairs or upon the grass. We couldn’t keep our jackets on for long despite the shade granted by the bandstand! During the two hours (with a brief pause…
Biddestone Fete
We seemed to be transported back in time, to a marquee on a village green in the centre of bustling stalls. The fete itself was opened with a fanfare by our valiant trumpet duo. We then followed with two sets of an excellent selection of…
Kington St Michael Church Fete
Luck was on our side with a gloriously sunny day (the days before and after had torrential rain, so Kington St Michael were very lucky indeed.) There were various stalls, tombola & raffles as well as samples of wares from the village shop. Mmm…
Celebrating the Royal Wedding
Chippenham Town Council asked us to play for the early afternoon at the Buttercross, and by the end of our set we had had quite a few flag wavers showing spirit. We all signed the huge wedding card. Only a few pegs went flying due to windy conditions!
