A surprising burst of September sunshine left band members relieved to have suncream and hats on this Saturday afternoon. We had a great turnout of band members; if only the audience could have been quite so numerous, but there were vintage guns going off further into the park which may have deterred visitors (as well as an inconveniently shut bridge.) The pieces best received were “Locomotion” and “Rock Around The Clock” which had people close to dancing. In a more serious part of the afternoon, we played “Sunset” with buglers as flags were raised with the mayor in attendance. Our bandmaster even headed to the memorial to play whilst we had our packed lunches!
Here is a link to the facebook photo album by D&D Carrington Photographers which includes two pictures of the band.
