Lacock high street was lined with stalls for the village Fayre despite the miserable weather, with a huge selection of craft items and cakes. We played in our usual spot outside the school and band members’ families were in attendance, just about avoiding any further rain.
August Bank Holiday Monday began rainy and cold and to the sound of groans from the musicians of Chippenham Town Band as we dressed in our Band uniforms and headed in to the beautiful village of Lacock for the traditional Village Fayre. We imagined ourselves playing music in the Barn as we did the previous year, but as 12:30 approached the rain dried up and we set up in the school yard, and began to play our first hour of music. As our second hour approached we regrouped and played ………and the sun shone for 5 minutes.. The Fayre was well supported and the Band was appreciated by a good number of people.
