In an unusual turn of events, we set up our stands among the gravestones near the Lychgate. We solemnly commenced our first set with a hymn before turning onto rousing numbers like “Those Magnificent Men In Their Flying Machines” and the even older “Teddy Bears’ Picnic”. These were interspersed with a few more serene numbers like “Moonlight Serenade” and “Basin Street Blues”. We were blessed with beautiful summer weather all afternoon; the rain even held off until all were safely departed from the rather steep car park field.
There was an extraordinary amount of stalls – such as raffles, cakes, crafts and even a dog show!
