Chippenham Town Band were pleased to support the local branch of the Alzheimer’s Society with a donation from the Band’s Christmas street collections. The presentation was made during a session of Singing for the Brain at the Sheldon Road Methodist Church when Amanda and Alan joined in with the musical merriment.
Adrian Williams (fundraiser for the society) said:
“ The support of the band is absolutely fantastic and it is so fitting that a group of local musicians feel able to support us to use music to help people combat the effects of dementia . Singing for the Brain helps to restore confidence and communication skills by tapping into the brain’s ability to recall music when almost everything else is gone. We really can’t thank Chippenham Town Band enough ”
